Massage Therapy is a systemic manual application of pressure and movement on the body’s soft tissue such as skin,
muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. It encourages healing by promoting the flow of blood and lymph, relieving
tension, stimulating nerves and stretching muscles to keep them elastic. All registered massage therapists are
regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario providing excellence in protection of the public, serving
its members and providing the highest possible quality of the practice of massage therapy in a safe and ethical manner.

Registered Massage Therapy includes many different types of massage such as sports, pregnancy, relaxation
and deep tissue. Be sure to let your therapist know what kind of pressure you prefer whether it be light touch or deep pressure.
It is important that you are comfortable throughout your massage therapy treatment.
On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out an initial health history form. It is important that this form be accurate in
order for you therapist to formulate a treatment specific to your needs. Your massage therapist will then go over what the treatment
will include such as what to wear, how much pressure will be applied, the areas of the body that will be treated and what techniques
will be used. Appropriate draping is applied so that only the body part being worked on is exposed. Massage therapy can also be done
directly over the clothing if you are not comfortable. Please be sure to let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable at any time
during the treatment.
All massage treatments are performed in a large, comfortable room with a bathroom and a private shower available. You are encouraged
to bring your own CD for your listening pleasure. Gift certificates are available at the front desk. Massage therapy is covered under
many extended health care plans so check your benefit package today.
